4/29/2009 We're in New York right now on our way to Paris.
4/30/2009 Today was our first day in Paris. We checked out our apartment, cruised the Seine, saw the Eiffel Tower finished everything off with ice cream from Berthillion.
5/1/2009 Busy day today. First we went to Notre Dame (though the bell towers were closed for May Day, so we'll have to go back). Then I got the chance to become an experienced Metro rider. First we went to the Pere Lachaise cemetary (resting place of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Chopin and a whole lot of French people). Then we headed off to Montmartre area to check out the Moulin Rouge. Finally we headed home, got some wine and watched the sunset over Notre Dame from the bank of the Seine. After all that, I fell asleep before dinner even arrived at the table.
5/2/2009 Today we went up to the top of the bell towers at Notre Dame, then went to St. Chapelle and then to the Louvre. After dinner we walked back across the bridge to Notre Dame to see how it looked all lit up. All in all it was a good day, though I was a bit disappointed by the lack of car pictures at the Louvre. I think it's a hole in their collection they really need to fill.
5/3/2009 Today we went to the Musee d' Orsay where I saw a Monet painting from one of my videos. After that we were off to the Arche de Triomphe and checked out the views. We finished the day off by taking a stroll down the Champs Elysees. That was my favorite part as we got to stop in the Peugot, Mercedes, Toyota and Renault flagship stores to check out the cars.
5/4/2009 Today we started out going to the parc Villette. Unfotunately the cool dragon slide is closed for repairs, but I did have fun playing pirate. We went to the Hard Rock cafe for lunch and t-shirts, then went up the hill on Montmarte to Sacre Couer. I got to take two rides on a carousel, two rides on a funiculaire and a ride on the Montmarte trolley After dinner we discovered we can see the Eiffel tower from the corner by our apartment. Here are also some bonus pictures of Mom and Dad's date night last night.
5/5/2009 Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today we went to Versailles, came back to our apartment to open presents, then went for a night cruise on the Seine.
5/6/2009 Today we rented a car (I was promised an Audi, but settled for a BMW instead) and drove to Bruges Belgium. I walked up 220 of the 366 steps to the top of the bell tower all by myself.
